| Renegade (2004) easily has the most incredible and accurate psychedelic experience ever captured on film. Originally released in France under the less macho name Blueberry, Renegade has been making the rounds around the world with the psychedelic intelligentsia and others interested in shamanism. With Brokeback Mountain, now we have two true alternate Western films that take their rightful place along epics such as Rio Bravo and the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Though peyote is the plant used here, the imagery translates well to the rest of the shamanic pharmacopia. The film is respectful of the psychedelic experience, which is a catalyst for Sgt. Blueberry's spiritual evolution and not the central eye candy gimmick of a drugsploitation movie. This is only a clip with a bit of a spoiler - the sequence thematically fits into the rest of the story. This clip is in French - our friends keep borrowing our English language DVDs. - Machinelf, DMTV | |

![]() Tripzine's Tales from the Tripside This is the funniest DVD i've ever seen about drugs, put out several years ago by Trip Magazine when they folded their print oerations and became simply Tripzine. It spoofs just about everything, from MAPS to Dancesafe to the Real World to late night 900 sex lines. A funny drinking game would be to have a drink every time someone falls down.
I've been trying to get it up for years (the video, not me) as people kept stealing my disc and conveniently forgetting it.
James Kent the founder of Trip Magazine visited me in 1999 and wrote this to me when we had a 3 way email exchange about my long gone Ketamine addiction with Wilson Leary, Timothy's cousin who died this year, who had alerted my parents -
"Should I assume from your post that you are under the spell, that you are not well? That others would gladly see you awaken, get back on your feet and give back what you've taken? Hopefully I am mistaken. But if I am not and your life is a dream, remember that things may not be what they seem. This gift you've been given, this power to see, it will rob you of time by the power of three. Idle time is eaten by the power of fours, and indulgent time eaten in sixes, sevens, or more. This may sound like gibberish, but It's not 'cause I know. The bottom of the bottle is a sweet place to go. But life doesn't stop as you dream time away, it goes on as you miss precious hours, precious days... If I could save time in a bottle, the first thing that I'd want to do, is steal tiny moments from my waking life just to sit down and spend them with you... O -K? Once a day? All the time? Anytime? Where'd you go? Reach out and touch someone..." |

| If there was ever a Trance Workout Video, this is it. Makes me want to go snip snip and get a sex change. Aerobicize - from when Showtime Cable came to Conroe Texas for free around 1980. The music was wayyyy ahead of its time, all sitar and guitar, trance rock disco with a dose of Vampyros Lesbos. I wonder if Goa Gil mixed stuff like this back in Goa in the early 80s before he and Raja Ram mixed it up with Front 242 & Cabaret Voltaire and others by 1990. If the stream stutters, press pause and let the stream build for a minute or so. Watch this Fullscreen! |

| Alien Dreamtime is the late Terence McKenna's famous video, shot in all its early 90s glory at the dawn of the latest New Age. Highly recommended. . | |

| This is a fantastic collection of icaros (c.f. to Icarus) which are songs sung by a shaman to guide his group through an ayahuasca experience. This CD's icaros are sung in a mix of Spanish and Quechua. | |
The ILLUMINATED CHAKRAS takes you on a multi sensory journey into the mystical beauty of the inner world. Follow the serpentine path Kundalini-Shakti, who represents the vital force that awakens each chakra. Journey from base to crown in this fantastic sound and light extravaganza, and experience the elemental realities of each chakra, as earth, water, fire, air, sound, light and transcendent consciousness. This visionary voyage makes it possible to see and experience the subtle energy of the chakra system that has, until now, only been described. |
