LSD
is a fancy, suped-up sporstcar. |

LSD inhibits conditioned reflexes. Acid, then, can be considered a deconditioning catalyst; it rechannels reflexes. That's what's really significant--and so political--about LSD. That's why there's what's called an acid revolution, as well as why police are against its use. The same people who denounce acid are always calling other people hippies, freaks, weirdos, faggots, degenerates or worse.
The government can't stop it with speed traps. The founder of AA couldn't get his predecessors turned on. Contrary to a scare tactic used by the government in the 60s, LSD does absolutely NO damage
to your chromosomes. Responsible use of LSD is the answer, not the problem, to many of our cycles of addiction, many of which became apparent in the twilight of the Sixties.

Although LSD was so recently synthesized during WWII in Switzerland by Dr. Albert Hoffman (who is still alive, looks like he is in his 60s and trips twice a month) there have been historical precedents. Dr. Hoffman has been researching the magical eleusis
drink that was part of a secret ritual undertaken by Alexander the Great, Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, all philosopher kings. It was dark purple and most probably an LSD ergot alkaloid. Of course, my ancestors the Vikings came down and ripped everything apart. Too bad they didn't partake of the
eleusis, or the Library of Alexandria might have been saved, much as Cortez de Vaca might
have let go his greed had he tried ayahuasca before razing Tenochtitlan. But I digress..., |

Another incidence occurred in 14th Century Holland. The Pied Piper of Hamelin came to
"power" as the accidental guru when he infected the village's wheat with the purple ergot mold, So all those children were
tripping as they danced into the hills. I know this because I did a book report on it in the sixth grade, but none of my books mentioned that LSD is obtained from purple
ergot mold. |

And could not dance the whole of the way; 234 And in after years, if you would blame
235 His sadness, he was used to say, -- 236 ``It's dull in our town since my playmates left! 237 ``I can't forget that I'm bereft 238 ``Of all the pleasant sights they see,
239 ``Which the Piper also promised me. 240 ``For he led us, he said, to a joyous land, 241 ``Joining the town and just at hand, 242 ``Where waters gushed and fruit-trees grew,
243 ``And flowers put forth a fairer hue, 244 ``And everything was strange and new; 245 ``The sparrows were brighter than peacocks here, 246 ``And their dogs outran our fallow deer,
247 ``And honey-bees had lost their stings, 248 ``And horses were born with eagles' wings; 249 ``And just as I became assured 250 ``My lame foot would be speedily cured,
251 ``The music stopped and I stood still, 252 ``And found myself outside the hill, 253 ``Left alone against my will, 254 ``To go now limping as before,
255 ``And never hear of hat country more!'' |

Another outbreak of the purpe ergot occurred during the Salem Witch Trials. |

The concentration of LSD-25 in the blood stream reaches its peak within 10 minutes after oral administration and
the half-life of the acid is 3 hours. It has a 56 min receptor association constant and a 173 minute receptor dissociation constant[2]. This seems to be in a sharp contrast to the
duration of its effects - sometimes up to 12 hours. |

Different Types of LSD
White Fluff - Rare, supposedly the very purest Lavender - Normally the "best," most visual and cleanest
Beige & Silver - Produce aches in shoulder and neck, more "speedy" How to mellow and soften the effects of LSD A study in the 1970's examined a large group of chemicals for an immunizing agent
to protect people against the effects of LSD. The study checked over 200 compounds and found only two with significant prophylactic effects (i.e., that created a tolerance to LSD).The most effective one was LSD itself. Nothing developed a tolerance to LSD better than the drug itself.
The other was Vitamin C, which ameliorated the confusion associated, often, with LSD. The
researches commented strongly on the alteration of the effect: people who pre-treated with
Vitamin C "tripped" but were less inclined to "get lost" in the experience and apparently
maintained a less conspicuous social poise. (The potency of the LSD was also somewhat reduced, but this did not account for the _qualitative_ difference in the experience for these
people, according the researchers.) The study didn't relate the dosages or interval between Vitamin C and LSD administration.
However, the "street knowledge" about this is: 1. The Vitamin C can prevent (sort of) the LSD
experience if they are consumed together, especially if the Vitamin C dose is large (1 gram or more). A sort of mild up-and-down experience can result from this combination
2. Taking the Vitamin C two hours before LSD works well. 3. Taking enough Vitamin C to saturate the tissues works well if enough time is allowed (2 hrs.,
perhaps less). 4. The LSD effect is slightly weaker, quantitatively speaking, than without Vitamin C, and ends sooner too.
5. It's typically easier to sleep afterwards also. 6. The "sense" of time, and of distances, is less disturbed with also.
3 grams of Vitamin C will saturate most people's bodies well. A good method of eating this
much C without gastric discomfort is to drink a solution of 3 grams of buffered Vitamin C that is
dissolved (not just stirred into!) in a glass of water. (People who keep their bodies saturated
with Vitamin C may notice that their urine is colored a brilliant yellow color. This is normal.)
It's possible that a smaller dose of Vitamin C will have the same effect on LSD effects; a
half-gram tablet might be sufficient for example. However,a significant time delay will still be required before taking LSD.
I suspect that the "confusion" that Vitamin C reduces is actually very valuable for
death-rebirth religious experiences; it's not a "bad side-effect" of LSD, in other words. However, such confusion makes an LSD user very vulnerable to "head-trips"
and other dangers (that may occur either inside or outside of a "controlled setting"). There seems to be less of the amphetamine-like edginess of LSD in this
combination; and I suspect the difference is not just the result of acidic urine washing the body clear of an exogenous amine.
The Vitamin-C ameliorated LSD experience sounds a lot like that ascribed to LSD analogues
(such as the di-allylamide) although the potency is only slightly less than plain-vanilla LSD. For
example, visiting a badly maintained, nudie-strip bar favored by US Marines on the 4th of July in a border town near Camp Pendelton would (for an experienced LSD user) be practical on the
Vitamin C-LSD combination; the same situation might be unendurable otherwise. Likewise, law-enforcement personnel will notice a difference in poise, but they will not necessarily feel
threatened by it. Incidentally, ingesting LSD dissolved into (chlorine-free) water will smooth the introductory
phase of the experience (regardless of Vitamin-C pre-treatment); LSD taken on paper tends, otherwise, to start very abruptly.
How to stop the effects of LSD
Large doses of niacin blocked LSD a thousand or two thousand milligrams. I believe the original
research was done by Abran Hoffer in Canada, who worked on niacin and schizophrenia as well as testing niacin and niacinamide for bringing down trippers. i can't recall which research was
which, but they safely used doses of up to 6 grams. to bring down a bad-tripper, probably start
at 1000-2000 mg and supplement with additional if it hasn't worked. the person will markedly calm down and eventually sleep.
The mechanism for this (i hypothesize, i don't think it's been explicitly published) is that
niacinamide activates the 'valium' (benzodiazepine) GABAergic receptor. it is low affinity but
clearly sufficient at high doses. it is not felt as a 'drug' however but as a natural state of more calm and less anxiety. |
